The Opportunity


As a Software Test Analyst, you will be involved throughout the development life-cycle of the Mercatus Development team with the responsibility of the quality assurance of software development with an emphasis on constantly improving quality. You will work with cross-functional teams on effective strategies for functional, system, and performance testing. You will contribute through functional testing across all applications and platforms. You will participate in the cross-functional teams and help with acceptance criteria, test scripts, and test scenarios to ensure engineers understand the business requirements and can be effectively tested. You will be working closely with engineers as they develop code to ensure requirements are being met and to the correct quality. You will be responsible for defining and driving comprehensive testing strategies and tool-sets into our overall development processes that support and enhance the current Quality Assurance processes.


Who You Are


You are detail-oriented with a keen eye for spotting bugs. You're excited about working with a growing and diverse team and have the communication skills to address a variety of audiences and deliver critical feedback. On the flip side, you're self-motivated, work well on your own, and don't need to be micromanaged.


In your toolbox, we'd love it if you have:

  • 5+ years of Software Testing experience in a web environment.
  • Experience as a Software Test Analyst in agile development environments
  • Proven experience testing web applications, mobile apps, and API integrations
  • Familiarity with PHP, MySQL
  • Strong knowledge of Unix shell commands, SQL, and database technology
  • Strong understanding of the Software Quality Assurance concepts.
  • A background in working alongside test automation teams, both running & implementing tests and test suites
  • Proven track record in process improvement
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Passionate about continuous improvements and pushing for new and innovative tools and approaches to enhance quality
